Mrs. Jessica L. Adams

Director of Career and Technical Education

Jessica Adams is a dedicated educator and passionate for Career and Technical Education who believes every student deserves a clear path to achieve their future goals. She grew up understanding the value of hard work and opportunity and has spent her career opening doors for students across grades 1 through 12. As Director of Career and Technical Education for Beaufort County Schools, she works alongside teachers, counselors, families, and community partners to ensure students have access to career pathways that prepare them for college, careers, and life.

With experience spanning elementary instruction, high school teaching, and district-level program leadership, she has dedicated herself to building programs that benefit both the students who walk through the door and the community they'll go on to serve. Her goal as Director is to build strong partnerships with local industry and throughout the community, creating career pathways that reflect the real opportunities and needs of the region.

Before stepping into district leadership, Jessica served as Career Development Coordinator and CTE Business Education Teacher at Washington High School, where she led the design, implementation, and evaluation of CTE programs aligned with the local job market. She built partnerships with local businesses, industry leaders, and postsecondary institutions to expand opportunities for students, and served as Washington High School School Improvement Team Chair. Earlier in her career, she taught from first grade through sixth grade, where she was consistently ranked in the top 25% statewide for student growth in reading and mathematics.

A proud graduate of East Carolina University, Jessica earned a Master of Arts in Education in Instructional Technology and a Bachelor of Science in Business Education. She is a National Board-Certified Teacher and holds North Carolina licensure as a Career Development Coordinator, Business & Information Technology Educator, Instructional Technology Specialist, and Elementary Educator.

Jessica is proud to call Washington home, both personally and professionally. She and her husband are the parents of two daughters, both graduates of Washington High School, and she remains deeply committed to connecting students with real-world opportunities that strengthen both their futures and the community they call home.
