Barrow, Ashley - Assistant Principal
Degrees and Certifications:
Elementary Education Educational Administration National Board Certification
I am honored and excited to be your Assistant Principal here at Chocowinity this year! This will be my first full year here at CPS even though I started in March of 2021. Over the summer I served as the Site Coordinator for the Southside of the river. I have taught in many districts across northeastern North Carolina.
I started my career here at CPS as an intern in the 3rd grade under Mrs. Fisher. I went on to teach at SW Snowden in Kindergarten for a few years. My family then moved to Edenton and I taught grades K, 1, and 2. Once realizing I had a passion for helping other educators find what works for students I then became a Literacy Coach and later a county-wide coach for grades K-8. My family had the opportunity to live abroad for a year, and upon our return I taught Kindergarten in northern Virginia. We have found our way home and feel blessed that I have found my place here at Chocowinity Primary School.
I have a Bachelors degree in Elementary Education (K-6) from East Carolina University and a Masters Degree in Educational Administration from Grand Canyon University in addition to my National Board Certification.
Every child deserves to have a champion and I believe in being that champion for them! I not only want to make an impact but I want to build a legacy. If at any time you have any questions, please feel free to contact me!
