Ms. Allison Vanderslice was born and raised in Norristown, Pennsylvania. She has four siblings, two sisters, and two brothers. All of her siblings, and her parents, play a musical instruments and sing! While growing up, Allison sang in multiple choirs and played in various bands and orchestras. Outside of music, she participated in roller skating, baton twirling, dance, and tennis.  Allison has always had a passion for music and wanted to share her love with others. She has taught music in three districts in Pennsylvania, taught band and orchestra for nine years in the summer, and taught a wide range of private music lessons. 

In 2016, Allison packed up her instruments and belongings and moved down to Washington, NC to teach and inspire the precious, young, and talented minds here at John Small School!
