Kim Bissette - BES Teacher of the Year

She began her college education at East Carolina University where she earned two degrees.  Her first degree is in Child Development and Family Relations and her second degree is in Elementary Education.  In May 2010, she earned her Master’s Degree in Elementary Education also from East Carolina University.  In May 2018, she added a second master's in School Leadership from Appalachian State University.  She began her teaching career in kindergarten for several years before moving to fourth grade. She taught fourth-grade reading for several years before moving to fourth-grade math. She is one part of a strong fourth-grade team and contributes her success to Mrs. Alligood's and Mrs. Mason’s support and collaboration. 

She resides near Pinetown with her husband, Doug, and son, Keegan. She enjoys camping, East Carolina Athletics, and spending time with family and friends on Pungo Creek.
