Henson, Janice - Assistant Principal
Degrees and Certifications:
Mrs. Janice Henson
The 2022-23 school year is my thirty-eighth year in education. I am beyond excited about this coming year. I am honored to work with Mr. Brown and the JCT staff, students, and families as we embark on this educational adventure together! This year my focus is fueling "the bus" with positive energy and driving with purpose. Along the way, I will support my passengers and hopefully, energize them! (My summer reading was, The Energy Bus by Jon Gordan.)
A little about myself . . . I grew up in rural western Pennsylvania. I graduated from Clarion University of Pennsylvania with a dual degree in Early Childhood Education and Elementary Education. My first teaching position was in the low-country of South Carolina teaching kindergarten and first grade. My family then moved to Marlboro County in SC where I spent twenty years as a classroom teacher (first, second, and third grade) and twelve years as a principal. I retired from South Carolina and moved to beautiful Beaufort County. I realized immediately that retirement was not for me. I returned to my first love, teaching second grade for four years at JCT. I then felt a calling to return to administration and became the assistant principal at JCT. I am excited to be in that position for the 22-23 school year. I am married to Andy and we are the proud parents of one son, Drew.
