Amber Godfrey serves as the Chief Technology Officer for the Beaufort County School District.  In her 21 years as an educational leader, Mrs. Godfrey has served in various roles throughout NC including Director of Technology Services and Director of Media and STEM education for Elizabeth City Pasquotank Public Schools. Prior to her leadership position in Elizabeth City, she served the state of NC as a Digital Teaching and Learning Consultant with the NC Department of Public Instruction. Mrs. Godfrey’s experience spans K-12 public education, as a CTE classroom teacher,  as well as Higher Ed. 

As the chief technology officer, Mrs. Godfrey serves on the senior leadership team and provides leadership in all aspects of digital teaching and learning, instructional technology, and technology infrastructure to support teaching and learning for Beaufort County Schools.  Amber currently serves as an executive board member for the NC Technology in Education Society (NCTiES), EdTech Digest advisory board member, NC Digital Teaching & Learning Statewide Advisory Committee member, and is a CoSN CETL (Certified Educational Technology Leader).  Amber has received many professional honors as well as participates in many leadership forums across the country. She is a graduate of East Carolina University, NC State University, and Appalachian State University and is currently enrolled in the Appalachian State University Doctorate in Education Leadership program.
