My name is Silena Moore and I am proud to be teaching at John Small Elementary. I am from Plymouth, NC. I have an Associate Degree in General Education, two Bachelor Degree's, a Major in Psychology, Minor in Criminal Justice and Master in Criminal Justice. I am a certified Cosmetology teacher and have taught for 11 years now. I started as a substitute teacher and now am proud to say, I am a full time 5th grade Science Teacher.

I have a true passion for working with our youngest learners! I would describe myself as positive, energetic, and knowledgeable in the field of teaching. Helping each child progress academically, socially, and adopt intellectual skills is what I strive to create in a positive class room environment.

I have two wonderful children who are 31 and 18 and two beautiful grandchildren, 10 years old and a 1 month old. My son is heading to North Carolina A&T University with a full ride where he will be studying Liberal Studies in Prelaw. I enjoy watching my kids grow to be successful adults. I also enjoy cooking and spending time with friends and family.
