Project Unify is a national program sponsored through NC Special Olympics and the US Department of Education. It is designed to help schools become more involved in Special Olympics through a variety of youth leadership activities. Project Unify involves coaching and training athletes for the Spring Track and Field events which take place in April.
Fifth Graders are selected by his/ her teacher to take part in Project Unify. All meetings and activities take place Friday afternoon.
Project Unify participants accompany the athletes in playing the bells during John Small’s Christmas concert, participate in the annual Easter Egg Hunt and are buddies for the athletes at the Special Olympics.
