Hello, everyon!

My name is Dawn Rockwell, and this is my sixth year as the Music Teacher at Eastern Elementary School!  I’m extremely pleased to be able to bring my 20+ years of experience with early childhood music to Eastern, and to share it with you and your students.  Over the Summer, I was able to attend an incredibly beneficial Professional Development Workshop, and I can’t WAIT to start using all I’ve learned in Music class this year.

Our first-graders will begin with a review of what we learned last year in Kindergarten, and move very quickly into new material that will help us be ready to perform at our Winter Concert at 6:00pm, on Tuesday, 10 December, 2024 in the multi-purpose room at EES.  We’ll also have Pictures With Santa starting at 5:00pm in the library that night.  This fund-raiser is a fantastic opportunity for easy holiday presents for your family!  At the concert, we’ll be using many different barred and hand-held instruments to accompany our singing voices!  After the Winter Break, we’ll come back and begin polishing our material for this year’s Steppin’ Out event set for Thursday, 17 April 2025 at 6:00pm at Washington High School. 

Our Kindergarteners will be welcomed into the Music room with simple songs and games that will help us get to know each other so we can have as much fun as possible!  Soon after that, we’ll begin preparing for our Holiday School-Wide Sing Along at 8:30am on Friday, 20 December, 2024.
