Greetings Southside and Beaufort County Community,

I am so excited to lead the Seahawk team in continuing a tradition of service for our youth and families.  I am a native North Carolinian who first dedicated myself to public service as a NC Teaching Fellow.  During my University work at UNC Chapel Hill I majored in both History and Spanish before I earned a Masters in Teaching Secondary Social Studies.  I taught History for eleven years at both middle and high school, proudly earning my National Board Certification during this time.  I attended Wingate University to earn my Principal Certification.  I have been a High School Assistant Principal for ten years before moving to the Beaufort County team.  I am also a proud husband to my beautiful wife and father to two wonderful children.

My professional goals are to promote high academic achievement for all students while cultivating a sense of family.  I will maintain students at the center of all decisions and support access to a rigorous and relevant curriculum that prepares them for post secondary goals.  While students remain centered in our work, I recognize that our teachers have the greatest direct impact on learning, and therefore I will work to support their professional and personal excellence.  Finally, I also aim to partner with the community to support our learners and their families.  I am thankful for the opportunity to serve as your Principal.  Please do not hesitate to reach me for any needs you may have at the school house.
