Hi there!  My name is Ashley Coward, and I am the Media Coordinator & Instructional Technology Leader at Southside High School.  I am starting my seventh year here, and I absolutely love working here.  Our school is a fantastic family who supports everyone who enters our doors.  

I began my teaching career in Pitt County working as a World Languages teacher, teaching American Sign Language.  I enjoyed teaching, but my aspirations of becoming a librarian were strong.  It has been a passion of mine since I was very young.  I made the jump into the library in 2014 when I was hired at John Small School.  As much as I enjoyed the library, I longed to be back at the high school level and I was blessed to move to Southside.  

In addition to being an educator, I am a wife and mother.  I have been married for 13 years and my husband and I have two beautiful children.  We love getting the chance to spend time together.
