My name is David Dixon.  I am a life long resident of Beaufort County.  I graduated from Chocowinity High School in 1993.  I served with the USAR 398th Quartermaster Co in Greenville as a reservist.  I obtained my Associates Degree in Design Drafting & Engineering from Beaufort Community College in 1995.  I have worked in the construction field since graduating high school.  My career has included positions such as Helper, Journeyman, Foreman, & Estimator.  I have journeyman level experience in trades such as Carpentry, Welding, Piping, Rigging & Masonry.  I have held Welding certifications for Stick welding pipe & structural steel, as well as having my Contractors Licenses.  

I began teaching in 2012 & obtained my teaching licesure through the lateral entry process.  I taught Masonry & Drafting at Washington High School for 3 years.  I transferred to Southside in January of 2015 to teach Carpentry & Drafting.  I am an authorized OSHA Construction 10 & 30 Hr trainer as well as a NCCER Instructor.

I am an assistant Varsity Football Coach.  In the Spring I am the Head Coach for our Golf program.

My planning for the Fall Semester is 2nd period (10:30-12:00).  Planning for the Spring is 4th period (2:00-3:30)
