This is my third year at Northside High School; and I just love being a part of Panther Nation.  I teach NC Math 2 Honors and NC Math 2 this year.  I have been working in education for fifteen years, ten of which have been in the classroom.  I have taught 6th - 8th Grade Math and Math 1.  I attended East Carolina University, as well as Troy University; but I am a Pirate to the core.  I have a degree in Psychology; but teaching Math is a passion of mine.  I absolutely love helping students develop a fondness for a subject that so many automatically fear.  

My husband Frank and I have three amazing children-- Ross, Maddie and Tate.  Ross attended ECU and is now the number 2 mechanic at the Hyde County Department of Transportation.  He also has his own quite successful lanyard business and was recently married.  He and his wife Hayley are expecting my first grandchild in January.  Maddie graduated from Northside in June 2023.  She is attending ECU this year and is a member of the Honors College.  She is majoring in Politcal Science and Security Studies.  It is her dream to work with the FBI or perhaps even the CIA; but she is also very interested in working in political communications.  Tate graduated from Northside in June of this year.   He was on the football and basketball teams, as well as the track and baseball teams.  He received both an athletic and honors scholarship to Barton College in Wilson, NC, where he now plays football.  We have one dog, Allie, and love to spend our free time at sporting events, boating or relaxing at the beach or pool.

It is my firm belief that Math does not have to be a daunting subject.  When approached with an open mind and a willingness to learn from mistakes, Math is a subject that everyone can learn and can enjoy.
