Hi, and welcome to the BES Media Center page..

I graduated from East Carolina University in 1991 with a BA in English. Then I taught high school English for five years at Southern Nash Senior High School (Go Firebirds!) After Southern Nash, I moved to PS Jones where I was a librarian for five years (Go Demons!) and then had the pleasure of being the librarian at Chocowinity Middle School (Go Indians!) for eighteen years until the 21-22 school year when I became the librarian at Bath Elementary School (Go Pirates!).

Battle of the Books Information

  • Elementary students in 4th and 5th grade and Middle School students in grades 6 - 8 who are interested in participating in Battle of the Books for the 24-25 school year should be studying their authors and titles lists.  Team members who score the highest will be chosen for the 12 member team.

    Lists are available in the library and below.  The test will not be given until late September.  Students should be listening for a morning announcement when the time comes.  Mrs. Baker will also be talking with her 4th and 5th grade classes and with middle school about battle when she meets with them.

    Anyone with questions should stop by the library or email Mrs. Baker.
