Hello! In the Exceptional Children program at Northeast Elementary, we employ a strategic approach to support our students with disabilities to ensure that all their needs can be met.
In collaboration with parents, administrators, general education teachers, and other related service providers, we have a variety of team members who can support the diverse learning needs of our students who qualify for special education services. With this team, we create well-written and thorough Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) for students with disabilities, which help us select which research-based, unique interventions and strategies will best support the ongoing learning of our students and ensure that they are making progress towards their individualized goals.
We are fortunate to have a strong three-member team within our school who works with each grade's teachers within the regular classroom, in our own resource rooms, and with related service providers (Occupational Therapy, Speech/Language Therapist, etc.) to provide the services that will aid our students' lifelong personal and educational success. Feel free to contact one of our team members if you have any questions or concerns about your child's participation in the EC program at NES.
