I was born and raised in Beaufort County and went to school here all my life. All three of my children attended Northeast Elementary. I went back to school to become a teacher when my children were young. I was inspired by many of my own teachers during my childhood in Beaufort County Schools.
In December 2014, I graduated from East Carolina University and was offered a temporary position at Northeast to teach 4th grade Science. I was sad to leave at the end of the year, but since then I have gained experience in teaching 6th grade math, 2nd grade, 6th grade ELA and two years teaching 4th, 5th, and 6th grades at Washington Montessori. I was thrilled to have the opportunity to return to Northeast. Northeast has always been where I had hoped to continue my teaching career and I look forward to working with 7th and 8th graders this year in ELA.
My hope is to inspire my students to love reading!
