I am so excited to begin my first year as Principal at Northeast Elementary. I have spent the last 28 years of my career teaching students at Northeast and the surrounding community. I am honored to work at a place I truly love.

I am a lifelong resident of Beaufort County. I am married to my husband, Phil, and we are blessed with four great children. I obtained my undergraduate Elementary Education Degree and my Masters in School Administration degree from East Carolina University.  As a National Board Certified teacher, I spent 27 years in the Kindergarten classroom and one year as an assistant principal.  During that time I also worked with first, second and third grade students in after school programs and different summer school programs. I have served various leadership roles throughout my teaching career. A few examples include serving as grade level chair, lead teacher for summer camp, Title I chairperson and NC data process manager. I was named Beaufort County Elementary School Teacher of the Year 2001, Northeast Elementary School Teacher of the Year 2018 and Beaufort County School Teacher of the Year Runner Up 2018.

As an administrator, I realize the role I play in affecting student achievement. I believe effective leaders yield quality teachers and quality teachers yield high student achievement. It is my goal to provide support to all staff members, families and students, build positive relationships with all stakeholders and make this the best school to be at in Beaufort County. I look forward to building relationships with each of you as we strive to make this a great year. Please know my door is always open. Go Cougars!
