Hi! My name is Christie Hardee. I knew from a very young age that I wanted to become a teacher. I graduated from ECU in 1995 with a BS in Elementary Education with a concentration in History. I later received my Masters in Education from NOVA Southeastern University. This is the beginning of my 28th year of teaching in Beaufort County. Before trying my hand at middle school, I taught 2nd grade at J. C. Tayloe for 21 years. This is my 7th year at PSJ. I thoroughly enjoy being able to teach Ancient Civilizations and Earth Science. My passion is definitely at the middle school level, preferably 6th grade. Middle school is great because I can develop a nurturing bond with my students. They know I am always there for them, good or bad. I want my students to know they matter in this world and they can be successful and achieve any goal they set. 

On a personal note, I was born and raised in Pitt County. I have spent most of my life in Washington, NC. I have one daughter, Amber, who is an ultrasound tech at Wilson Ob/Gyn. I have one very spoiled pit-lab mix named Sasha. I have an "honorary daughter" named Hannah and an "honorary grandson" named Lawson, who calls me CiCi. Hannah began as Amber's friend, and now she is mine too. During my free time, you can probably find me watching some type of horror/suspense/thriller movie or series, playing games on my iPad, hanging out with Lawson, or making memories with my family. I enjoy quick trips to the mountains or the beach. I love long roadtrips to places like Branson, Missouri or Bar Harbor, Maine. In 2014, I went to Italy with my mother and Amber and visited my mother's relatives! That was an amazing journey!
