My name is David Welham and I am the band director at P.S. Jones Middle School.  This is my seventh year as the band director at PSJ and I've greatly enjoyed my time working here.  I grew up in Winston-Salem NC before moving to Washington to start working at PSJ.  I've been playing music since I was 10 years old and that passion carried me through into my career.  I greatly enjoy the band performances throughout the school year for other students and the community.  There is a lot of benefit to instrumental music education so I think having your child participate in the band program is a great choice.  It is my hope that they sincerely enjoy learning how to play an instrument as well as getting to form strong friendships with other band members.  Feel free to reach out to me at any time if you have any questions.  Email/Remind is the fastest but I also check my voicemail as often as I can.
