My name is Sydney Whitehead, and I am thrilled to be continuing my teaching career here at CPS. I grew up in Fuquay-Varina but recently moved to the Washington Area! This will be my second year at Chocowinity and my second year teaching!  I love spending time with my family and my friends, listening to Taylor Swift, going out on the river, and shopping. I also love any type of fruit! 

I received my BS in Elementary Education from East Carolina University in 2023. I am currently in Graduate school to obtain my Masters in Education with my concentration in Children in Poverty. With this, I will also be receiving a certificate for teaching Children in Poverty. During my senior year internship, I student taught right here at CPS in 4th grade and absolutely loved it! Throughout high school and college, I have always worked with children at various preschools and through nannying. 

I look forward to working with my new students and parents this upcoming year. Together, we will make this the best school year yet!
