Hello, students and families! My name is Ms. Gibbs and I am a First Grade Teacher at Chocowinity Primary School! CPS is a very special place and I am so excited to spend this year with you! 

I grew up in Greenville, North Carolina and graduated from the University of North Carolina Wilmington, in December of 2022. There, I obtained my bachelor's degree in Elementary Education and taught an internship in 1st Grade. After graduation, I was given the opportunity to work in 3rd grade, here at CPS, for the remainder of the school year. After spending a few months at Chocowinity Primary, I knew that it was the school for me! In 2023, I began teaching first great and absolutely loved it! We will accomplish amazing things this year!

First Grade Supply List 

• Bookbag (no rolling bookbags!)

• 1 3-ring binder 1”  WITH POCKETS

• 2 boxes of 24 crayons

• 1 pack of plain wood pencils

• 1 pack of pencil-top erasers

• 1 Zippered 3 ring binder pencil pouch – no boxes please!

• 1 double pocket plastic folder with prongs

• 1 spiral notebook (1-subject wide ruled)

• 2 rolls of paper towels

• 2 boxes of Kleenex

• 1 pair of scissors

• 1 pair of headphones (no earbuds please)

• 1 container of Clorox disinfecting wipes

• 2 packs of VERY FINE TIP dry erase markers

• 1 reusable water bottle 

It would be very helpful for you to make sure your child’s first and last names are written on all of their belongings! These items will be used to start our school year. However we may need additional items throughout the year.
