Hello!

My name is Allyson Whitaker, and I’m so happy to introduce myself. I’ve had the joy of teaching Kindergarten for six years, with the past four spent right here at Chocowinity Primary School. It’s truly a blessing to be part of the CPS family, where every heart is focused on doing what’s best for our students and the community we love so much.

I earned my Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Education from the University of Mount Olive and am currently working toward my Master’s in Curriculum and Instruction at NC State—go Wolfpack!

My heart is happiest at home with my amazing husband and our two sweet children. Our son will be starting 4th grade here at CPS, and our daughter is almost 5 and full of energy! As a family, we love spending time together, especially during the summer—my favorite season! Sunshine, warm days, swimming, traveling, cooking, and watching our little ones play baseball are just a few of the things that make life special. And yes, I do enjoy a good shopping trip too!

In our classroom, learning is all about joy, curiosity, and connection. I’m passionate about creating a loving and engaging space where every child feels supported and excited to grow. At CPS, we’re more than just a school—we’re a family. I can’t wait to welcome my new scholars into our classroom and begin a wonderful year together!
