We are sad to see this 2024-2025 school year come and go! We have enjoyed having each one of our PreK students and we hope they have a fantastic summer! We can't wait to see them back in the hallways in August!

My name is Emily Houston and I am one of the 2nd grade teachers here at Chocowinity Primary School. 2025-2026 will be my 17th year teaching. I live in Washington with my husband and our 11-year-old daughter and our 18 month old son. Working with children has always been my passion. When it came time to pick a career for college, there was no hesitation that education would be my future! I attended ECU and graduated with my Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education as well as a Birth-Kindergarten teaching license. Every year gets better and better as I learn new things and new ideas to incorporate with a new group of students. Once you are one of my students, you will forever stay one of "my" students. My favorite part of teaching is the life-long relationships that you build, establish, and sustain with children!

If you are a current parent, please make sure you have signed up for the remind app. This will be our main way of communication and I will be using it to share information as well as pictures of what's going on in the classroom. The link will be posted here in August.
